From 31 March to 6 April ELFI electronics participated in the pilot mission in the USA organized and guided by DITECFER within the EU project “PERES Promoting European Rail Excellence outSide EU”
The mission had as its objectives Chicago-Illininois, Cleveland-Ohio and Pittsburgh-Pennsylvania, selected by DITECFER and its partners after careful market research as key centers of the rail supply chain in the US.
“An extremely interesting journey – commented Leonardo Fabbri, CEO of ELFI electronics, returning from the trip -: there are opportunities for collaboration, given that American companies are looking for solutions that we in Europe have
already come up with. American companies are paying close attention to our methods of transporting people: in some states they are developing them, in others they are still studying the best solutions “.
“American companies – adds Fabbri – are very interested in European SMEs, despite the fact that our small dimensions do not facilitate direct collaboration. Small businesses like ours can play a role if they can find synergies with industry giants, such as Siemens or Bombardier, among others already present on the American market. “
The PERES delegation was composed of 18 people from 5 different European countries: DITECFER with the Coordinator, the Head of Business Development and the Marketing Officer; the European Clusters of France (i-Trans), Saxony-Germany (BTS), United Kingdom (Rail Alliance), South-East Europe (RCSEE) and 9 companies, of which 4 Italian (including ELFI electronics), 2 German, 2 English, 1 French.
