4 out of 20 European railway SMEs selected to test the “RailActivation” pilot methodology: they are Elfi Electronics, Ferretti, Te.Si.Fer., Tecnau Transport Division
Elfi Electronics, Te.Si.Fer. and Tecnau Transport Division, 3 member companies of DITECFER, all from Tuscany, together with the Ligurian Ferretti Srl, are the 4 Italian SMEs selected among the 20 European companies in Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain, operating in the railway sector which they will test for first the “RailActivation” pilot methodology for Workplace Innovation.
The methodology was developed as part of the EU-funded Railactivation project under the Horizon 2020 program, which sees Spain, Italy and Germany unite as European hubs of the railway industry in one of the 3 pilot projects that the EU has funded for promoting Workplace Innovation in European SMEs. The project is led by MAFEX-Spanish Railway Association and sees as partners DITECFER, the QUINN Consortium (University of Pisa), the Rail.S cluster (Germany) and Tecnalia (Spain).
The strategic purpose is to contribute to the success of SMEs in the transformation made necessary by the fourth industrial revolution, and to encourage their use of the best available technologies.
This implies different types of change in the company: at the level of structure, management of human resources, relations with customers and other surrounding actors, etc. By achieving these results, the project also sets itself the objective ” induced ”to improve working conditions in SMEs, triggering greater productivity, and therefore increasing the competitiveness of the company, its turnover and its resilience.
The 4 SMEs each receive € 10,200 in the form of training and coaching by the QUINN Consortium and Tecnalia. The SMEs have undertaken to set up mixed project teams within them, in which the various company functions are represented, precisely to maximize the impact of the pilot phase and promote ‘fertilization’ between people and functions, so that the the entire company is ‘changed’.
